A graduate of the School of Music at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Chad Turner holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education. Mr. Turner has an extensive music instruction background ranging from individual lesson tutoring to small ensemble coaching to holding staff positions with a number of competitive marching bands.
Mr. Turner has held teaching positions in both North Carolina and South Carolina. He taught for a short time in Yanceyville NC and then moved to Charlotte where he has band, taught orchestra and general music. Mr. Turner also taught for a year in Clover SC where he was given the privilege to lead and direct a very successful and competitive program.
Mr. Turner has assisted programs all over the central part of North Carolina from Greensboro to Charlotte. His staff experience varies from tutoring students one-on-one with playing technique on their instruments to working with an entire marching band on both their marching and musical performance abilities. Mr. Turner has been called on to assist teachers in both the public and private schools in and around the Charlotte area.
The programs he has held staff positions with is a "Who’s Who" of some of the more well known band programs in North Carolina. He has worked with Page HS as well as Northwest Guilford HS in Greensboro. Mr. Turner assisted East Lincoln HS, Providence HS, East Mecklenburg HS, Hopewell HS, Monroe HS, Sun Valley HS and Porter Ridge HS, all in and around the Charlotte area. Mr. Turner has also been contracted to write and "tech" a number of marching drills for several local high schools over the last few years. These include Providence HS, East Gaston HS, Monroe HS, Porter Ridge HS, Hopewell HS, Sun Valley HS, Parkwood HS and Southern Lee HS. All of these groups have consistently placed high in competition.
Mr. Turner is a past member of Phi Mu Alpha, Professional Music Fraternity and SCMEA. He is a current member of NCMEA and MENC. His wife, Amanda, holds a Master's Degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in Music Education. She is the Director of Orchestras at both Ardrey Kell and East Mecklenburg High Schools in Charlotte. They in live in Indian Trail with the beautiful daughter Addison and their dog, Bella.
